This almost happened to me once but I luckily avoided it. You can go crazy thinking of ways to get out of this but the first, most effective step will be to just find a new job. This is easier said than done I understand but like I said you'll exhaust yourself trying to find an alternative but it'll never happen. The first step in creating some distance is to simply work somewhere else.
